A moment in time

There's a tree in the local woods that has this engraving of "1979, Andy, Paul, Steve". What the photo doesn't show is that this is now about 12 foot up the tree.

I can only imagine that 3 kids etched this into the tree all those years ago and since then the tree has grown and moved their moment of friendship up into the air.

I wonder what happened to these 3 lads and if they know their act of 70's vandalism is still forever growing.
