First Of the Season

A yellow admiral was feeding on the Angelica flowers. Its colours were so bright it must have hatched today. I was hoping it would show the tops of its wings, but they were kept folded unless flying.

I went to Christchurch today to get my prescriptions, which had run out. It was a bit scary because two Covid-19 cases were found in the city yesterday (the first in almost a year), and I feared there would be people out panic buying. It wasn’t too bad though. A few groceries on my list were missing from the shelves, but it turned out we will not be in lockdown this time, so it’s not a problem.
