wet wet wet

A lot of rain fell during the night and continued to fall during the day. We could see from our house that the Cairn had burst its banks and at lunchtime we went down to look at the waterfall at Routin Brig. You might remember that I blipped it a couple of days ago..I've included the second extra as a comparison. In the first extra you can see Sarah clearing the leaves which were blocking the drain and causing the road to flood. The road on the opposite side of the Cairn was closed because of flooding and the Nith in Dumfries was also flooded, running over onto the Whitesands (a regular occurrence). Thankfully we didn't have to drive anywhere today.

We went out again later on and the water has receded a lot, but more rain is on its way...
