Transfer Completed

This time the transfer actually happened but it took place in mist and rain.  By the time I was free to get out with my camera the 'Gorilla VII' jack-up rig was already on the heavy transporter 'White Marlin' and lifted above sea-level in preparation for its voyage to New Zealand.

The semi-submersible transporter would have filled its tanks with water until the mid section was sufficiently below water for the jack-up rig to be floated over the deck.  Pumping out the tanks increased its buoyancy until the load deck was once more above the waterline.

It just has to be secured in place before leaving for a year's drilling contract off New Zealand.
