Godley Head Walkway

Despite some low cloud rolling in, it was a day spent enjoying beautiful seascapes and landscapes.

In extras, an image of Scott's Cabin, which we passed by.  It is a tongue-in-groove prefabricated hut built for Robert Falcon Scott's ill-fated Antarctic Terra Nova expedition of 1910 to 1913.  It was taken down to the Antarctic but never used for meteorological observations that it was designed for.  Brought back to Christchurch, it was erected on Clifton Hill where Scott's wife is said to have stayed in it in 1913.  Since 2013 its resting place has been at Godley Head, with sweeping sea views.
