Hidcote Manor

We met Chris and Jean at the National Trust property Hidcote Manor Gardens.  The place was very quiet considering it is half-term this week, though the fact that all the approach roads had signs saying "Road Ahead Closed" may have had something to do with it.  We had to detour along some long narrow roads, and even then eventually ignored the warning and carried on.  The road was actually closed after the NT property!

The weather forecast had shown heavy showers, luckily we missed them and were able to have coffee and a good walk around without getting wet.

Though not strictly a flower I think these callicarpa (beautyberry) live up to their name as they are looking lovely at the moment.  The tree was by the exotic plants' house and lily pond.  There was a single water lily on the pool in flower, I've added it to the extras.

Thanks to BikerBear for hosting this week's Flower Friday.

Later, back home, I cooked a matar paneer, using tofu instead of paneer cheese, which we had for tea.
