From a bygone age

On the bench are cases containing the late MrM Senior's trumpet and cornet, and these three tins containing treasure from a bygone age. Well, a little treasure maybe, among miscellaneous pieces of paper - birth and death certificates (may help MrM with his family tree), receipts, and all sorts of memorabilia, once meaningful to someone...

A day that didn't go to plan, but when do they ever?

Should have gone to Jacqui's for coffee this morning. But an early text informed me that a parcel was due for delivery, and MrM wouldn't be here to receive it in my absence as he had an appointment with the dentist. Arranged for Jacqui to come here, after which an email arrived - said parcel won't be delivered until tomorrow! All turned out well in the end as a different parcel arrived, one that was due at the beginning of the week. And Jacqui went to the PO on the way here, so we were both happy!

Panic after lunch on discovering that the light in the fridge/freezer wasn't coming on, and the appliance was strangely silent. Rude words were uttered. But, to cut a long story short, the fridge itself is fine, it just needs a new bulb. Phew! But by the time that became apparent, the contents of the freezer had been emptied into the cool box as a precaution, so I took the opportunity to clean the freezer - no more escapee peas in the bottom!
