Busy

The day started fairly slowly since it was another murky damp morning. The hob’s crack is getting worse so I spent some time looking for a replacement and we decided on one and headed over to Curry’s to buy it. Annoyingly wasn’t in stock, but luckily as I was sitting ordering it with the assistant A checked online and found we could order it direct cheaper and have it delivered quicker…! So we decided just to order it ourselves and came home via a couple of other shops.
We decided the kitchen cupboards need sorted out so started on some of that (of course making the place look much worse as a result first!), I ordered P some frozen dinners from Cook and we had a BLT roll for lunch. By now it was much brighter and felt like we should have headed to the woods or hills to enjoy the autumn colours, but A had booked time at a dog free range field where Paisley could run free off the lead. We had a great time, throwing her ball, getting her to chase us and generally letting her explore in the pretty warm late afternoon sunshine. This was taken when we all needed a sit down to get our breath back. Couldn’t believe how fast she can run…but of course that’s why she’s not able to be off the lead on walks where she’d bolt if she saw a rabbit (or anything else small!)
Home and powered on with the kitchen clearing until it was time to dash down to a launch of an institute linked to the COP26 conference….A’s getting the hang of these sort of receptions now (extra)!
Didn’t stay too long and when we got back I made a sort of Cullen Skink fish stew that I saw in the paper this morning whilst A did more sorting of cupboards (the floor and every surface in the rest of the kitchen are covered in stuff now, but the cupboards are looking tidy..!) before we stopped for supper and watched recorded Strictly before bed. Tomorrow I have work to do and we need to get the kitchen sorted but it looks like it will be wet again so a day at home will be ok.
