Good Foxday

Coming home from a morning meeting for coffee with cycling chums was already great, because I'd normally have been heading on to the office, but with the sun making a sudden appearance I knew the foxes would be out as well. 5 in total. Only 6 or 7 weeks till the cubs start making an appearance.

Not so good was later in the day having a short stroll along the coast, and coming across some evidence of the havoc that has been wreaked on small seabirds by the awful weather. This dead Puffin (near the body of a Razorbill) is one of hundreds that have been washed up along the east coast from Newcastle to Aberdeen. Grabbed a photo to report it - there's a study looking at maturity and so on of the birds to determine if any particular group are more vulnerable to the weather).
