Then there was a hole

I had planned a quiet morning painting, but had forgotten that this was the day we were getting a new shower in the bathroom next to my room. A plumber arrived early on and started demolishing the old shower unit. It was very noisy!

One of the reasons we were getting a new shower was because the old one has leaked on and off for a long while. Gordon has managed to stop it and then it would start again. Now the plumber uncovered rotten floorboards underneath . . . oh dear! It did not look good. 

In very efficient fashion a joiner was sent for and fortunately the joists were fine, so it was a matter of replacing the boards so the base unit could be installed. This was done and by the end of the day we had the base of the shower. It is a good thing we had not waited any longer to replace the shower or the situation could have been much worse. 

Very impressed with these local guys and the efficient service.
