All Soul's Day

The last day of Allhallowstide, when we honor all those who have died.  It is a day to remember not only our own dearly departed but the nearly 750,000 who have died in this horrible pandemic in this country and the 5 million world-wide.  A shocking loss.  This photo shows a "descendent" of my lovely old yellow maple in the front yard that died and which I had to have cut down a couple of years ago.  There is another sapling growing nearby that I plan to have dug up and transplanted in the spring.  A new generation.  “When we illuminate the road back to our ancestors, they have a way of reaching out, of manifesting themselves...sometimes even physically.”
