Above And Beyond...

Half & Half

Year 2 Day 224 of UK COVID-19 Pandemic.  First UK Vaccine 328 days ago.  UK open. Overseas travel with restrictions.

I posted my 8 year Anniversary Blip yesterday and it zoomed straight to No 1 on the popular pages. Incredible. Thanks everyone who helped put it there with hearts and more importantly, thanks to all who continue to pop in on my journal on a daily basis. Much appreciated.

We had a voucher from the eldest son last Christmas for The Saracens Head Inn, Symonds Yat (East) and decided to walk the couple of miles there for lunch. We woud have used it earlier in the year, but with lockdowns and restrictions didn't get around to it. It expired next month, so decided we'd better use it! We don't normally have lunch, just breakfast and evening meal, so went without breakfast today. The meal was mediocre and very expensive. The cappuccino's were also expensive and luke warm, and despite taking them back, so were the remade ones! It was busy there but not a place we'd return in a hurry. Lovely location overlooking the River Wye though.

After lunch we walked to Lydbrook (Gloucestershire) along the edge of the River Wye and then home, probably a total of nine miles. The sun was out, the views stunning, and both of us agreed we are so lucky to live in The Wye Valley.

The blipfoto is taken at the start of the walk in Goodrich (Herefordshire) when I spotted the blue/white sky sort of split half and half! In the background is our local Coppett Hill.
