One seed = 2kg

Twelve seeds have produced almost 1kg of butternut squash to eat each week for the next six months. (I still have a novice gardener's awe.)

In anticipation of frost I brought in the 16 squash I could see then pulled up all the plants in case there were any I hadn't already spotted hiding under the huge leaves. The patch is now looking very bare. I've left two squash in the greenhouse where I hope they'll be protected from cold for a bit longer. In any case, the greenhouse is about the same temperature as indoors at the moment. Brrr.
