Give Way ... Gave Way!

Out on my travels today and, on approaching junction with M90, noticed this poor Give Way sign seemed to have been mistreated somewhat.

Either that or it has given way under the enormous pressure of trying to keep us all as safe as it can.

Or, it may simply have fallen under the strain and just Gave Way!
