The Hole in the Tree

Today's blip is a scene from one of the steep, wooded valleys on the edge of Dartmoor. The high rainfall and mild climate encourage the luxuriant growth of moss and ferns. The trees here are mainly oak and beech. This old tree with a hole you can look through was an unexpected discovery on my walk this morning.
