Two Tree Island

A cold but beautifully sunny day today, so we headed to Two Tree Island for the first time in years! It's a great place for spotting birds and it was good to visit the new wildlife lookout - named after a volunteer who devoted many hours to the reserve before his passing - that was only recently completed after the last one was vandalised.

Spotted lots of Avocets, godwits, wigeons, geese and a very friendly robin who serenaded us as we walked! And then we found a lovely little cafe nearby by the golf range - we can vouch for the quality of their tea and toasted teacakes!!  We'll definitely be going back!

and this afternoon I've been a busy bee - have put fleece in my 2 mini greenhouses for a little added protection, and then have had yet another bookshelf clearout so there's 3 bags of books for the charity shop and a box ready to be shipped off to WeBuyBooks for some cash!!

Now to collapse on the sofa and hope the noisy fireworks aren't too loud this year! My first firework night without a pet for many years....
