Barron Falls from the Kuranda Scenic Railway

Rainy day today in far north Queensland. We took the train from Kuranda, which is up in the hills, back down to the coast near Cairns. Our ride up was on the "Skyrail", which is a series of cable cars, like at a ski resort. Not too good when you don't like heights!
This waterfall can be much bigger when it has rained a lot. When it rains in the tropics, it really rains. What intrigued me was the colours of the pools - latte, capuccino, etc. - the colours of coffee with different amounts of milk and froth.
Kuranda is a quaint historic village with markets, art galleries and museums. Because it was so wet, we missed a lot. Some of the shops even closed early.
When we got off the train, we heard that the Skyrail had broken down (because of a power failure) and there were people still stuck in the cars. Not in danger, but they would have been uncomfortable. We were glad we'd come down by train!
