World first

This was the first bridge in the world to be built with iron. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and croses the
River Severn at the place now known as Ironbridge. It was opened in the year 1779 and was one of the early achievements
of the Industrial Revolution which began in the midlands and the north of England.

My first extra shows the early morning view from our holiday cottage. The South Shropshire countryside is some of the least spoilt in England.

My second indulgent extra shows Mrs. K. enjoying refreshments outside in the remarkably mild November weather.
