Cows for Conservation

We walked our "Two Ridges" walk today. It's a short drive from home which is a great option at the weekend. But boy was I tired today. Not really sure why. I didn't have much enthusiasm for photography either.

This might just seem like a simple photo of a sweet cow. But it's working hard by just being a cow and eating vegetation on the Trentham Estate that's non nati-e. They're used as conservation agents, rather than more invasive methods, joining the Aberdeen Angus cows who already graze the area. I'm sure they don't know all this but they seem blissfully happy wandering around the rough pasture and woodland doing as they please.
