Crazy About Birds

The Same Only Different

If I were to swing slightly to my left, more to the west than the north, we'd be looking at the usual view. But here's one of the ponies in the field - after having scored some carrots this morning. They are Connemara Ponies. Susan, the late owner of Oakfields farm, had Irish ancestors and was very enamoured of these ponies - so she had a bunch of them. One of her daughters is keeping the farm going, but it's my understanding that they are sort of trying to sell the ponies. In any case, they are quite old and just retired, basically. They have, however, figured out that I carry carrots.

Tomorrow - early - I'll be boarding a plane for the first time since February of 2020 and heading for... THE GALÁPAGOS! A trip that was scheduled for October/November of 2020, but didn't happen. There being, apparently, no connectivity when actually tootling around from island to island on our catamaran, there will be no blipping happening. You'll likely get an Atlanta airport shot from me tomorrow prior to getting on the plane for Quito, and maybe a blip from Quito on Thursday. But Friday we head to the Galápagos Islands and will out of touch until the evening of the 19th. Fingers crossed for no annoying glitches...
