Remembrance

There are so many war memorials in Scotland - not just every town has one, but most villages too .

They date from the end of the First World War and the number of names from that conflict indicates the reason -    there were so many families left bereaved in every part of the country.   

This little memorial is at Kames , though it covers the wider district of Kilfinan, as the name on one of the panels testifies.   

Today, being Armistice Day,  it was hung with these  woollen poppies, some of which were swinging in the  brisk breeze.
