Last day

This is our last day in the Shropshire Hills. Tomorrow morning we set off back to Arnside.

Weather still mild and dry but grey skies with just the occasional hint of sun.

A day of gentle walks in the the National Trust’s Cardingmill valley. And yes the old carding mill is still
here. Once used for carding, a part of the textile manufacturing process.
This is a very popular area on the eastern flanks of the Long Mynd range of hills. It was busy today with buses
of teenagers on school outings. And plenty of cars. If you come in Summer you have to get up very early to be sure
of a parking space.

My main shot and extra show the brown bracken covered lower slopes of the hills. There are plenty of easy walks for
old folks and a National Trust cafe too.

It has been a delightful week with plenty to do and see. Not a lot of sunshine but mild and we never got wet.
