Lest we forget....Imperial War Museum North

Visited the IWM North in Salford today......this awesome display of poppies are from the original stunning display at The Tower of London.
It's a brilliant museum .....very moving.
My grandfather and two great uncles were killed in WW2 , my grandmother was bombed out twice in the Liverpool Blitz, widowed with 3 young children who had to be evacuated to Wales whilst she earned a living in the Munitions factory. I always tried to spend Remembrance Sunday with my grandmother.....who was never bitter or angry but warm and compassionate to everyone no matter their colour or creed.
The museum covers all wars from 1914 onwards.....but see the EXTRA for the huge remains of a window frame from The World Trade Centre from Ground Zero New York.
Well worth a visit.....and still FREE
