Some Thoughts on Remembrance Day

What is it we need to remember?
Remember that war is bad and
Peace is good?

Remember that civilians died as well as soldiers,
Innocents on both sides.
They did not ask for war
and neither did we.

War is a handy tool
For politicians, who are themselves tools.
Find an enemy, gather the troops,
Get public opinion behind you.

I marched against war, once.
It did no good.
