Botanical Garden Again

Another wonderful sunny day and a journey to Edinburgh. Pat attended a life drawing class at the Scottish Arts Club and I decided to complete my exploration around the Botanical Gardens. Some 55 photos taken!

Today’s Blipfoto gives a glimpse of the glass houses which are undergoing an extensive programme of restoration and refurbishment.

One of the very helpful guides advised me that the complete programme will take some seven years, which will include the building of a new greenhouse!

I also visited the demonstration gardens, which are designed to inspire amateur gardeners in a wide range of horticulture types.

One of the main activities being carried out just now is the setting up of the Winter Illuminations. This is a new entry to the Bucket List.

The extra shows the sun and the fallen leaves.

I met up with Pat at Rutland Square and headed back home via the Buffalo farm near Kirkcaldy.

We enjoyed a rather fine late "Breakfast" lunch there served by very friendly and capable waitresses.

On the wall next to our table a plate was displayed with a quote from Robert Burns. It seems very appropriate just now.

We then travelled home by way of St Andrews. Buying petrol was very straightforward. Of course, the price continues to rise as the £ value against the $ continues to fall.
