Flodden Field 1513

Branxton
Northumberland
England

You may already know about the historical and political significance of this bloody battle.

What is probably not so well known is the part Catherine of Aragon played in the victory at Flodden Field, she was not however on the battlefield as depicted by some of the more fanciful film TV dramas.

Quote:
Catherine - Henry VIII’s first queen—acting as regent in her husband’s absence (he was campaigning in France) secured a major triumph at the Battle of Flodden
