Remembrance Sunday

Every town and most small villages in the country have their war memorials. From a simple stone pillar to a memorial hall or church. 
We went for a walk and pub lunch with our younger son and wife and Pepper the dog. This is their local village hall strewn with poppies in remembrance of all who died in war. 
Thinking today of my dad who fought at the battle of El Alamein, my uncle who was at Monte Cassino , my FIL who took part in the D day landings and the son mentioned above who was in Afghanistan.
All four came back safe and well.
