for not neutral. I saw this display in the supermarket. Gendered toys are an issue because it forces children into narrowly defined roles. This becomes a problem when children think they can't only play based on defined gender roles. Play in this way removes the creativity and freedom for either gender to explore other roles eg using tools, building, looking after a baby or playing house. In adulthood this can lead to stereotypical ideas about gender roles which is damaging to women and men.
