Sawcut Gorge

Nice leisurely breakfast at the campsite, then off north to Sawcut Gorge.

interesting drive in and then you literally park at someone's house. Quiet bizarre. Very nice people, they get you to sign in and give you a map, quite civilised really. Then into the river you go ...

So when they say this is a "boots wet" trip, it totally is. You cross the river about 50 times. But, this time of year it's shallow. Never anything even near your keens. And beautiful. Lots of limestone and big boulders and fabulous pools.

Only took about an hour up, despite the "advertised" time of 2, and then we walked up the river around another 25 mins looking for the hut. But, as we'd left all the brochures at the car we got a little confused, was it 30 or 60 minutes up. In the end we decided it must be 60, so we turned around (apparently only 30 tho). Oh well, nice walk.

And then back to Sawcut. Amazing limestone formations carved by the water, Nature is pretty incredible. Then down the gorge a little to have lunch and swim, pretty divine.

All in all a pretty easy walk, make a half day of it, pack some lunch and your tags. Lots of fun.

And then home. Might be doing the Xrace tomorrow with Adam ...
