Evening all.

Am up in Northumbria for a couple of days enjoying our friend's hospitality for a few days.

Woke up this morning to head out for a brisk walk before breakfast, and found my way barred by the "night guard", who very clearly demanded payment for his services and gave me a quick display and a quick shake of the plumage for good measure.

Having thus asserted his authority he resumed his sentry duties whilst i went back inside to change my too colourful clothes, wouldn't do to try and upstage the boss would it!
