Hare's Foot Inkcap

A fungi first for me today: a late stage Hare's Foot Inkcap. The name refers to the earlier stage when the fungi looks like a...hare's foot. By the time it gets to this point, however, it's translucent and stripy and curling upwards, resembling a flower. I love that I'm finding new fungi now I have a new patch to explore. These were in Iping this morning on Hector's walk (he was very good again, as indeed he was at training this afternoon). I also went with my university colleague, Haighleagh, on a field trip over Woolbeding Common today, so I've had plenty of fresh air and exercise.
