Pink trumpet

I photographed this flower near the beach today. It is a  climbing vine called Bower of Beauty, Pandorea jasminoides. It grows in subtropical rainforest and coastal areas from north Queensland to about central NSW.

It was botanically named by the Scottish botanist George Don in 1837 (Wikipedia). One of his descendants is Monty Don who presents brilliant TV gardening programs.
