Wednesday

Delicate fungi one day, the Caister lifeboat the next. Why? It's Wednesday afternoon, a fortnight after the last cross-country on Mousehold Heath, so it's the next one in the series, based at the Lifeboat Station, with the route taking us north along the beach & back, partly on the track in the dunes. A beautiful afternoon with very little wind - unlike the last time we did it, 2 years ago. Unfortunately the forecast isn't so good for tomorrow, when we've planned a walk along the coast as we're staying in the van at Waxham.

The Lifeboat Station is an independent one, not part of the RNLI - apparently there are only 2 independents in the country. Donations for parking & refreshments at the event went to support the Lifeboat - & as the boat itself is named "Bernard Matthews 2" I assume that one of our local businesses was also a major donor.
