The Best Laid Plans

A lovely sunny morning which lit up the first winter flowering narcissus  beautifully.   Raised from seed which came labelled 'cantabricus  x romieuxii Atlas Gold,' there are two flowers, quite different in appearance  (extra  pic) which is no surprise in hybrid seed.

I'd planned a day of outdoor jobs but as with last night's planned early night, things didn't work out quite as I hoped.    See other extra pic, taken at 427am in the car park outside A&E in Aberystwyth.   Meg waiting patiently for Katie to reappear after the out-of-hours GP suggested not long before midnight that she should be seen.  A bad reaction to new antibiotics as it turned out and no harm to Katie apart from a lost night's sleep.   We finally got back to Tywyn at 6am.

All's well that ends well.  Katie and I enjoyed a very tasty meal together at Jamie's this evening, a great improvement on last night's impromptu get together!   I did get some fairly serious cleaning and furniture moving started during the day - seemed a shame to waste it having had to get up for a helpful social worker meeting at 11am.   Tired now and WILL sleep well tonight!
