Pleached Limes

The sun came out and it turned 16C so we called in at Erddig House on the way home. There are two rows of  limes grafted into each other providing shade from the sun for the ladies of the house so that their fair skin was not burnt by the sun's rays when they went for a walk.The near ones were planted in 1976 but the distant limes were planted over 200 years ago.
