Wow! he sat still for a long time while I maneuvered around to get clear of the vines on the fence. We were up on the campus farm, a foggy morning that offset all the brilliant color. Wildlife included the resident hairdo chickens and a watchful red hawk, but being cradled by the fog took up most of my attention. You couldn't see across the road, and it was a peaceful cared-for feeling, soft and comforting. But there's nothing like a good hummingbird! I'm surprised the feathers are so intense without any sunlight to bounce around.
