Pilrig House

Home to Robert Louis Stevenson's mother and grandparents, 17th century Pilrig House was a burnt-out derelict shell when it was repaired and converted into flats in the 1980's. The house features in his novel Catriona, and may have inspired one in Kidnapped (although I'm not so sure of that). Much of the remaining estate ground now form a public park which was looking lovely in the windy sunshine today.
