...a miracle of nature in how perfectly the seeds are packed inside the seed pods. At the right time the pods break open and the seeds slowly start to emerge, encouraged by the wind and its movement of the pod until they're finally free & can start their great escape--carried on those same winds--to new places where they'll make new milkweed plants. Most of the seedpods are already empty, but today I found a few "late bloomers" in various stages. I walked in the preserve while Tom was transfused with a unit of blood, & he said it helped as he'd been feeling draggy today. He slept for a couple of hours after we got home.
