I worked on the construction of the road in the middle distance in 1994. I recall that after that I was sent to a big dock project on South Humberside. That posting made me realise that I was always going to be living out of a case with brief weekend visits home and planted the seed of self employment in my mind.  Oddly, I did enjoy the Grimsby job. I had very good digs and the other highlight from that stint was being bitten by a dog while initially looking for lodgings
