Cooling off ……

…… in the fountain.  We met up with two of our fellow America’s Cup volunteers at Mission Bay this afternoon and sat in the sun eating fish and chips and having a good old chat.  It was great. The beach was packed and there was a strong wind blowing, so we sat on the grass behind the old stone mission buildings where it was very sheltered. We walked on the flat from St Heliers to Mission Bay and back, just catching the bus up and down the hill as I was concerned about my leg, which is showing signs of improvement and I didn’t want to set it off again.

The fountain was working and was packed with children - big and small - cooling off in the water.  I’m sure you’re not supposed to swim in it, but no-one was taking any notice of that.

It’s Day 12 of Level 3 Step 2 and there are 149 new cases of Covid-19 in the community, including 6 in the Waikato, 2 in Whangarei, 1 in the Bay of Plenty, 1 in the Lakes area and 139 in Auckland.
