On the limestone ridge

It was a beautiful sunny day today but very cold.  We went for a walk above Rhydycroesau, a village very close to Oswestry and half in England, half in Wales.

Just as I got out of the car a peregrine flew over, no time for a photo of course! The walk is beautiful but the stiles are dreadful.  Two are very wobbly, one requires you to climb over a tricky wall to get a foothold and one has been built back to front so there is nowhere reachable to  put your foot.  They're very treacherous especially in wet weatherbut we were very careful.

The views were fantastic up there, my blip is looking towards the Berwyn Mountains in Wales.  The cold wind really whistled around us so we were glad that we'd put winter gear on!

The extra is a group of scarlet waxcap (or scarlet hood) mushrooms that we saw on the grassland on the top.  Apparently they're edible but people are not encouraged to pick them as they're not common.
