A walk of two halves

We got up and out for a local walk this morning, down through the town and harbour, to Rapparee Cove and then up onto Hillsborough.  You can see that the sky was a bit brooding for the first part (this is the view back to the harbour from Rapparee Cove), but it was mostly sunny, too.  By the time we got to the highest point on Hillsborough it was drizzly and very misty - Ilfracombe disappeared briefly - and then really quite rainy.  But it was all very beautiful nonetheless.

We walked as far as a very steep downhill section before Hele Bay, and decided that was a good point to turn around and save Tim's knee from further abuse.  Detoured via Fore Street and the High Street on the way back, then back up to the apartment to get everything dried out.

Did quite a bit of our packing this afternoon, then ventured out to the fish and chip shop to collect our dinner.  Seems only right to finish the holiday the way we started :)  Got back and discovered a camper van parked in our spot - it turned out that the people due to stay in our apartment from tomorrow had got the day wrong and turned up a day early.  Oops.  Felt very sorry for them - but they went off to find a hotel for a night (which hopefully wasn't too tricky at this time of year).
