Sad end

Thewre was a turtle washed  up on the shore at culla. Very dead but still obviously a turtle.
I did my bit of measuring  and reporting it to the SMAS group. After initial thoughts it was a Loggerhead, opinion moved to Kemp's Ridley Turtle. Wikipedia writes 'it is the rarest species of sea turtle and is the world's most endangered species of sea turtle'. This one has clearly not helped the cause.
95% of the population nest on one beach in Mexico putting all their eggs in one basket (or many holes in the sand I suppose).
Tricia off on her first archaeology field trip enjoyed the trip to Baleshare.
