Corrieshalloch Gorge

We tried in vain to make it further north than Ullapool today. As we drove out of the town the weather just kept getting worse and we could hardly see where we were going due to the fog! So we turned around and decided a visit to the Corrieshalloch Gorge might be an option. A perfect choice for wet weather.

The gorge is about 60 metres deep with  the Falls of Measach dropping by 46 metres. The main image shows the falls from the viewing platform which juts out from the side of the gorge. The extra is from the suspension bridge where you can see the viewing platform. There isn't a smudge on the image it was a cloud of mist just sitting in the gorge.

Both photos really show how much water is falling as there are several subsidiary waterfalls. We've never seen that before.

We then visited Ullapool for the last time this week for a quick coffee and a few more photos. We watched the creel Christmas tree being constructed before saying farewell for now. I'm sure we'll be back as soon as we can.
