Land of the Long White Cloud

New Zealand is known in Māori (the indigenous population) as Aeotearoa… which means the Land of the Long White Cloud. its such an apt name as when we do have clouds they’re long… and white! They are seen here in this image of Rangitoto Island - an iconic volcanic island in the Gulf opposite the city of Auckland. It can be seen from all around the city and beyond - and weirdly looks exactly the same from every place and angle! This is taken at the beach near our house - taken in the middle of Aucklands very long lockdown…. So no people… no boats… just Rangitoto… and the cloud.
