Old Canberra

This was our home for 30 years, until 10 years ago. We planted the cream-flowering dogwood on the right, and just about every other plant in the photo. And chose the current paint colours for the house. We are pleased, and just a little surprised, that the present owners are maintaining it in much the same style as we left it.

'Old', in Canberra, means 95 years. In 1927 the Australian Parliament moved from Melbourne to Canberra.  A new (now Old) Parliament House had been created and a few hundred houses, including this one in the suburb of Reid, were built for support staff. We spent 30 very happy years in this lovely home in a delightful part of old Canberra.
