Fun on the beach

We went out for a walk mid-afternoon. It was sunny, but breezy, but there were still people enjoying the beach.  We came across this group of lads enjoying burying one of their number up to his neck in sand.  They seemed to be having a fun time, even the one who was being buried.  I did ask permission before taking the photos.

When we reached St Heliers we decided to enjoy an ice cream sitting on a seat overlooking the water. A delicious treat.

It’s Day 16 of Level 3 Step 2, but also the 100th day of Auckland being in lockdown. Thankfully, there are only 178 new community cases, of which 149 are in Auckland, 16 in the Waikato, 9 in the Bay of Plenty, 2 in Northland, 1 in the Lakes area and 1 in MidCentral. Sadly, however, another Covid-related death has been reported.
