The second half of life..

Steep banking turn....

by a tern.

Appointment at the endodontist first thing.  Interesting approach to work from the crew at the practice - I arrived at bang on appointment time, the main man arrived 15 minutes later.  One of the ladies on the desk came out to apologise saying 'He's usually 5 minutes late, but not 15.  Traffic must be bad from Stoke.'  Hmmmmm.....exactly where I'd just driven from.

With barely an apology he was straight into work.  About 90 minutes later all was done and I left having paid at least 3 arms and 5 legs!  Despite his lateness/dubious professional approach he appears to have done a very good job.  Part two of the work will be done in early January.  Pretty sure that will only cost the usual arm and a leg.

Headed off the the Boulder Bank then for a few hours - glorious sunshine and a small gathering of terns to keep me entertained.

News of the day - the leader of the opposition Judith Collins has been ousted by the National Party caucus as leader.  Given she was their 4th leader in 4 years the party looks anything but stable.  It's pretty hard to see how an unstable opposition will be able to act as an effective opposition which then leaves the whole country in rather muddy waters.

In COVID news, 178 new cases today, 78 people in hospital and 8 in ICU.  Sadly, one more death was also reported.

The data 'modellers' have hinted that we may have passed our Delta peak.  Whilst the numbers of people testing positive for COVID have been alarmingly high for a few weeks, the general feeling is that we've again dodged a bullet.  Opening up the Auckland borders and permitting an outflow of Aucklanders/inflow of others to the city from December 15th will be the next 'wait and see' period.
