RECYCLING

I don't know what this fungus is, busy recycling a rotten tree stump. The stump may be ash or birch, but it's been there, carved into the shape of a bird, for about 15 years and is now crumbling away quite rapidly. I blipped more fungi on it about four years ago, but this is all that's there at the moment. I thought it would fit the bill for Abstract Thursday - Texture (thanks to Ingeborg for hosting), and for once it's straight out of camera.

The gas people did their bit this morning and found the main they were looking for, quite a lot deeper and further out than the plan they'd been given. We were switched back on within the hour, though the "free boiler service" we'd been told about was a bit peremptory and just seemed to involve making sure the cooker and boiler didn't blow up when we were reconnected. Still, that's the important bit.

Thanks for stars and hearts for yesterday's sweary robin. Much appreciated.
