Bumble Bee

The Mistress has been busy all day, first visiting a friend to photograph birds on her property. Her friend said they always had lots - fantails, bellbirds, quail etc.. Big boy was set up and a small walk around the property to find.... no Birds. None. Zilch. Oh well - got a wonderful lunch and had a great morning despite the dearth of birds.

On to another friends place in the afternoon and she found this bottle brush shrub absolutely inundated with bumble bees. The Mistress kept pushing me close to them, in fact she used my lens to disturb one sleeping bee. I was mortified. The Mistress thought it was dead and tangled in the brush, but a touch of my lens and it was off again.

A walk in the vineyard and the wetland area for birds before dinner but the birds were keeping away. Dinner then home to blip! Another midnight blip!
